Two ways to leverage AI

There are two ways to leverage AI — and they’re two different games, not two steps of the same journey.

Game one: run your business with it. Inbox, sales, reporting, your own learning curve. And speed is the least of it — AI brings clarity to messy corners, opens options you didn’t have, teaches you skills you never found time to learn.

Game two: build it into what you sell. A product, not a workflow.

Founders get overwhelmed when they play both games with a single strategy.

Some tools belong clearly to one side. Many behave completely differently depending on what you’re aiming at — is this going into your workflow, or into your product? Same tool, different question, different answer.

Neither game is easier. A safe product is exactly as hard to build as a safe internal process. What changes is where the risk lives — and how you handle it while you’re still learning.

Product side: pick a domain where mistakes are cheap, even fun. A joke that misfires costs nothing. A wrong number on an invoice can become expensive.

Workflow side: start with the tasks where errors don’t hurt — and double-check every result once the risk climbs. That’s what keeps you steady while you learn how the tool behaves.

Two games, played with the same tools.

Are you playing both? Do you always know which one you’re in?
